Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued May 25 at 5:27PM MDT until May 26 at 12:00AM MDT by NWS Goodland KS THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 310 IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MDT /1 AM CDT/ TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN COLORADO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN NORTHEAST COLORADO YUMA IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST KANSAS CHEYENNE DECATUR GRAHAM NORTON RAWLINS IN NEBRASKA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA DUNDY HITCHCOCK RED WILLOW THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ATWOOD, BENKELMAN, BIRD CITY, CULBERTSON, HILL CITY, MCCOOK, NORTON, OBERLIN, PALISADE, ST. FRANCIS, STRATTON NE, TRENTON, WRAY, AND YUMA.

Special Weather Statement issued May 25 at 7:28PM CDT by NWS Goodland KS At 728 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 3 miles northwest of Trenton to near Atwood. Movement was northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Trenton around 735 PM CDT. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for northwestern Kansas...and southwestern Nebraska.
