Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued May 25 at 6:28PM CDT until May 26 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS North Platte NE THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 310 IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM CDT /MIDNIGHT MDT/ SUNDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN NEBRASKA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 7 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL NEBRASKA CUSTER IN SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA CHASE FRONTIER HAYES LINCOLN IN WEST CENTRAL NEBRASKA LOGAN MCPHERSON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BROKEN BOW, CHAMPION, CURTIS, ENDERS, EUSTIS, HAYES CENTER, IMPERIAL, MAYWOOD, NORTH PLATTE, RINGGOLD, STAPLETON, TRYON, AND WAUNETA.

Special Weather Statement issued May 25 at 7:53PM CDT by NWS North Platte NE At 753 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13 miles north of McCook, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Stockville, Quick, Bluegill Haven Campground, Willow View Campground, Red Willow Reservoir State Recreation Area, and Dancing Leaf Earth Lodge. This includes Highway 83 between mile markers 27 and 42. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for southwestern Nebraska.
