The island of Oahu in Honolulu County * Until 545 PM HST. * At 241 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over Honolulu, with additional heavy rainfall over Central and West Oahu. Additional heavy rain is developing south of the island, and could move onshore within the next hour. Streams remain elevated with additional showers likely. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2.5 inches per hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible in steep terrain. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Honolulu, Waipio, Pearl City, Aiea, Waiahole, Waikane, Halawa, Mililani, Kahaluu, Waikele, Ahuimanu, Salt Lake, Waipahu, Moanalua, Wahiawa, Wheeler Field, Kunia, Kalihi, Kaaawa and Iroquois Point. Stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches, and culverts, even if they are currently dry. Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on foot. Turn around, don't drown.

Flood Advisory issued May 18 at 2:16PM HST until May 18 at 3:15PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County. * WHEN...Until 315 PM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 210 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over Honolulu, especially between Manoa, Palolo, and Waikiki. Additional heavy showers are located across Central and West Oahu. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. The Waiahole Stream has reached 11 feet, which could cause flooding along Kamehameha Highway at Waiahole Valley Road. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Honolulu, Waipio, Mililani, Pearl City, Waikele, Wahiawa, Wheeler Field, Waipahu, Aiea, Kunia, Halawa, Waiahole, Waikane, Schofield Barracks, Salt Lake, Kahaluu, Moanalua, Ahuimanu, Iroquois Point and Ewa Beach.
