At 1207 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located over Vero Beach, moving east at 40 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.

Sebastian Inlet to Jupiter Inlet 20-60 nm... * Until 130 PM EDT. * At 1229 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 11 nm northeast of South Beach to 13 nm west of Saint Lucie West, moving east at 35 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can can quickly form and capsize boats, damage vessels and create locally hazardous seas. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher waves, lightning and heavy downpours. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets.
